About the CERN Node category

(Replace this first paragraph with a brief description of your new category. This guidance will appear in the category selection area, so try to keep it below 200 characters.)

Use the following paragraphs for a longer description, or to establish category guidelines or rules:

  • Why should people use this category? What is it for?

  • How exactly is this different than the other categories we already have?

  • What should topics in this category generally contain?

  • Do we need this category? Can we merge with another category, or subcategory?

Hi Andy,

Many thanks!

Here’s a tentative reply to the items above. If by any chance we’d need to edit them, may we do so freely?

This is the community space for users of the CERN EOSC Node in the EOSC Federation. Use it to ask how to do something on the Node and to share analyses, notebooks and workflows. It is also the place to tell us what is missing.

Why should I use this forum

The forum is for questions whose answers may help other people. When something is broken or only affects you (you can’t log in, you are missing a group membership, a service is down), open a ticket through the helpdesk linked from the Node’s contact page. A ticket is tracked and routed to the right team.
Questions about the EOSC Federation in general, and not about this Node, belong in the Federation categories.

What a good topic contains

  • How-to questions on logging in with EOSC AAI, getting access to a service, or managing workflows on the CERN VRE, CERNBox and REANA

  • Questions and feedback on the analysis examples, or your own adaptation of one

  • Use cases: what you want to do on the Node, and what stops you today

  • Feature requests and feedback on the documentation

  • Announcements from the Node team: new services, maintenance windows, changes to access

When you report a problem, say which service you used, what you did, what you expected and what happened. Add the link to the notebook or workflow if you can.

Please never post passwords, tokens or personal data.
